Carving Shed

Canoe Carving Project - Since 2007 LVG’s carving program has housed a variety of programs in its carving shed. Many talented and gifted Laxgalts’ap artists have worked on totem poles in 2007 and 2008 and then two years ago four canoes were envisioned to be created out of the LVG carving shed. This project continued until 2010 when a 42 foot long cedar canoe was created and will be used for the 2011 canoe season. Under the direction of Master Carve Alver Tait and six Laxgalts’ap Artists, this spectacular canoe has emerged into a show piece. LVG is very proud of these accomplishments.
